BIO
After graduating from ASA, Sara attended Wissahickon High School, where she was elected an officer of her graduating class, helped lead numerous school and regional academic and service initiatives, and received many awards and scholarships for her efforts. She was also a talented singer and dancer in school and company productions, the newscaster for her school’s television station, and an avid athlete, playing many sports, including soccer, field hockey and cross country track. Sara went on to double-major in communication and political science at Penn State University, where she earned many honors and distinctions. There, she continued to serve communities in need as a research assistant for projects focusing on improved lifestyles and tolerance of religious beliefs, political choices, and social status. She led and continues to lead major cancer relief fundraisers, including Relay for Life at Penn State and in the Wissahickon Valley. Skillful in communication and passionate about government and law, she was selected as an intern at Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz’s office in Washington, D.C., and served on several government-related initiatives.
Devoted to the Armenian cause and people, Sara has served the Armenian community in many ways. A former altar server and graduate of the St. Gregory of Datev Institute Armenian Christian liturgical program, she has been a member of and competed athletically for Armenian youth organizations. She also interned for an Armenian television station in Yerevan, was the founding chairperson of the Penn State University Armenian Club, and is a leader of the AGBU Young Professionals group in Philadelphia. Sara now works in project management at Prudential Life Insurance in Dresher, PA, and plans to pursue advanced degrees in business and/or law.
