Cultural Day |

On a day in October, students stage a performance of poems and songs celebrating their rich Armenian culture and heritage. |

Halloween |

Pre-K through Kindergarten students dress up in costumes and parade through the school singing Halloween songs for the older children. After which they gather together for their Halloween party. In addition, the Young Ardziv Society sponsors a “Halloween Movie Night” for children of all ages. |

Students present a program of “thanks” through songs, poems and original skits. After the program the entire student body and faculty gather together for a delicious turkey lunch that is served by the PTC.
Throughout the students participate in a food drive. They collect non-perishable food items to be given to local shelters for the less fortunate. |

Christmas Pageant |

One of the Academy’s most highly anticipated programs is the annual Christmas Pageant when students (Pre-K through grade three) present the Christmas story followed by the fourth through eighth grade students presenting a bilingual program of Christmas and New Year carols. |

Held in the beautiful Hovsepian Center, the Academy’s annual Family Night celebration is an evening of fun, music, dancing, good food and fellowship. |

Vartanantz |

Vartanantz Day is a world-wide national and religious holiday throughout the Armenian communities. Here at the Academy, students present a program of songs and poems to commemorate Vartanantz and the valor of the Armenians who died for their Faith and Homeland. |

Grandparents' Day |

The fourth grade students invite their grandparent to a special program to honor them. Students prepare biographies and scrapbooks about their grandparents. After each student reads his/her biography, they present their grandparents with the scrapbook. Following the presentation a wonderful luncheon buffet is served. |

Science Fair |

Seventh and eighth grade students participate in the annual Science Fair. Individually or in groups of two, the students choose a topic of interest; they research and prepare written reports along with visual displays. The students then present their projects to their parents and classmates. |

The Armenian Fair provides students the opportunity to research and learn more about their rich Armenian heritage as well as appreciate their ancestors’ struggle to preserve their identity as Christians and Armenians. |

Armenian Week |

| |
Students celebrate the undying spirit of our people during a week-long program of Armenian language, history, and culture. Children sing, dance, recite and pray in memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their faith and beliefs. |

Each spring the school community has an opportunity to purchase books, posters and games appropriate for each grade level. Armenian books and crafts are also available. |

Passion of Christ |

For Armenians, the Lenten and Easter season represents a spiritual rededication and rebirth ingrained with beautiful customs. At the Academy, these longstanding traditions continue to be celebrated each season. With ritual preparations and devotion, the seventh and eighth graders perform the Passion of Christ for students, faculty, family and friends. |

It is an Academy tradition to close each school year with the annual Hantes. Performing for a packed house, students present a variety of dances and songs, dressed in exquisite costumes. Following the performance, Academy family and friends gather on the school grounds to enjoy a shish-kebob picnic. |

The Armenian Sisters Academy graduation ceremony takes place the evening of the last day of school. It is held in the Hovsepian Activity Center and is by invitation only. |

Club Program |

The Club Program is a unique component of the Academy’s curriculum. It encourages students to expand their interests educationally, culturally and socially. A wide range of activities are offered such as cooking, art, exploration station, kite making, computer, sports and brain games. Activities vary from year to year. |

The Academy has its own Brownie, Girl Scout and Junior Troops. All girls (1st through 8th grade) are welcome to participate. |

Basketball |

The Academy basketball teams (1st through 8th grade) participate in the Malvern Basketball League. Practices are held after school. Games are also held at the Academy and at other local area schools. |
