Each October, our heritage and traditions come to life in the form of songs and plays celebrated during Cultural Day. This year was no exception as the Academy’s Montessori students sang and recited poems and the first through third grade students performed Hovhannes Toumanian’s “Derun oo Dzaran” or Master and Laborer. Some children helped narrate while others portrayed the various characters in the story. This classic Armenian tale depicts two poor brothers who “trick” the greedy man they work for and become richer for the experience, both in wealth and life lessons.
