On the invitation of the school’s Board of Directors, the priests from the five Philadelphia area Armenian churches enjoyed an evening of fellowship and fine dining with the Sisters assigned to the Armenian Sisters Academy in Radnor, PA. With a new principal at the helm of the Academy and an additional returning Sister from Rome, the evening was an opportunity to enhance the relationships between the local clergy and the four Sisters serving the school. In addition, with new priests recently assigned to the Philadelphia community, this dinner afforded the Philadelphia religious community time together to enhance the relationship amongst them.
In the past, the churches have been very supportive of the Academy, and likewise, students attending the Academy form a very important part of the local congregations. “A strong Armenian community is vital to maintain our rich culture and heritage,” affirms Board chairman Dr. George Avetian. “This evening further enforced the comfortable relationship between the Academy and the priests of the local Armenian churches.” May it be only the beginning of a wonderful collaboration.
