The Academy’s Alumni Society is gaining momentum! The Society hosted their first gathering at the Fox & Hound Restaurant in King of Prussia. Although different ages attended, all expressed a desire to meet on a regular basis, at different venues.
Then graduates were assembled to speak to ASA’s 8th grade students. Alums from the 1980’s - 90’s expounded to the soon-to-be newest graduates how the skills they learned at ASA have served them well in their careers. Kim Yacoubian explained how her career spanned working in the finance and non-profit worlds before returning to school to earn her Master’s degree. She feels the discipline and work ethic learned at ASA have always distinguished her amongst her peers professionally. Ani Kechian emphasized that her education at ASA has attributed to her success and confidence during her career; especially when she decided to change professions. Current parent Tanya (Megerian) Bardakjian stressed that the time management skills she learned at ASA have helped her to this day, allowing her to juggle a career in genetic counseling, motherhood and PTC (Parent Teacher Council) chairmanship. André Zeibari, another ASA parent, credits the writing and public speaking skills learned at the Academy for his ability to speak comfortably in front of small and large crowds alike. It was an eye-opening afternoon for the Upper Junior class, ensuring them all their hard work will pay off.
